Urban Prints sent notice to cease-and-desists printing T-shirts

Noel Ferris of Urban Prints in the Market Hall, the Shambles, Worchester, has been asked by Net Result to cease-and-desist the printing of T-shirts with any reference to any team in England's Premiere League.  The league considers the "I Heart" T-shirts, printed by Urban Prints to be a trademark infringement, even though Noel and the store selling the shirts do not pass them off as being official merchandise. Intellectual property rights are not specific to the realms of books and electronic media.  Clothing is just as controlled as anything else.  I can't defend either party in this situation.  I understand about wanting to keep control on your property rights and earn income from them, but at the same time, those with intellectual property rights can sometimes be so blind to the idea of loosening their grip to expand their audience base they do more damage than good when trying to enforce their rights.

RED CARD: Noel Ferris, owner of Urban Prints, with his T-shirt design which has angered football officials. 1413288201
